UPVC, also called PVCU, commonly known as hard PVC, is an amorphous thermoplastic resin made from vinyl chloride monomer through polymerization. It does not contain softeners, so it has good flexibility, is easy to shape, not brittle, non-toxic and non-polluting, has a long storage time, and has great development and application value.
UPVC has a wide range of applications, including the pipeline industry, water supply and drainage, flame-retardant wire cable casings, electrical flame-retardant switch housings, sockets, profiles, plastic steel, some fenders, bumpers, etc.
In addition, UPVC has high melt viscosity and poor fluidity. Even if the injection pressure and melt temperature are increased, the fluidity does not change much. In addition, the molding temperature of resin is very close to the thermal decomposition temperature, and the temperature range that can be molded is very narrow, making it a difficult material to mold. Therefore, UPVC injection molding requires dedicated plasticizing parts and temperature control systems.
In general, UPVC profiles have excellent properties such as lightweight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and insulation, and have broad application prospects in construction, transportation, industry and other fields.
