uPVC (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride), also known as rigid PVC or vinyl siding prepared without adding plasticizers, unlike the regular PVC. It is used in place of wood during construction especially in making windows frames and sills. Besides that, it is exists in various colors and is also used in doors, vinyl flooring, shoes, toys, clothing materials, showers, curtains and even in cars interior and exteriors.

UPVC window & door are non hazardous from the health point of view. They do not change their shape under normal weather conditions. Rather, they can be reshaped under very high temperatures. Most importantly, they are more energy-efficient as compared to metal doors and windows. Moreover uPVC is recyclable, so these windows and doors can be recycled.

However, luckily after choosing PVC windows, there is no need to worry about the paint of used on your windows. All that one is needed to worry about is its maintenance.

CLEANING THE FRAME

The window frame can be cleaned twice a year; the more frequently you clean more easily your windows cleaning task would be easy next time. First of all, take some brush; wipe off all the dust and then take an uncoloured, preferably white, piece of cloth and damp it with water and clean the window frame. Take care that it doesn’t leave any marks. Besides that, you can also get a PVC cleaner from your nearby local hardware shop, but be careful when cleaning with it as it may affect the silicone seals and they may begin to lift up.

CLEANING THE GLASS

It is generally considered the best approach to clean the glass four to eight times in a year. To clean the window glass, use a damp cloth damp traditionally with water or glass cleaner. Besides that, the window glass can also be cleaned with e-cloths. E-cloths came as packaging with two pieces of cloths; one for cleaning and other one for drying purpose so as to give a perfect shine to the glass. One point to note is to avoid cleaning the windows in sunshine as it may result in a streaky finish.

It is important to check the maintenance of your UPVC door twice or thrice a year. Check the hinges and locking points so that they may not jar, become stiff or get stuck. To avoid all these problems if at all possible, cleans your doors with soapy water regularly. Otherwise, you can use a lubricating solution to prevent any jarring hinges or locking points. Last but not least, make sure that all screws are tight and not near falling off.
